Thinning
hair is experienced by men and
women though primarily it seems to effect
women with men tending to suffer
from male
pattern baldness instead. It is often
called "diffuse thinning" and
it's where the hair line remains the same
but the actual quantity of hair thins out.
One of the main reasons women suffer from thinning
hair is aging and/or a combination of
factors including heredity and hormones.
Thinning hair can be caused by hypothyroidism,
anemia, poor diet, certain medications,
stress, childbirth and perimenopause (the
time leading upto the menopause).
For most men thinning hair is normally male pattern baldness (androgenetic alopecia) and starts at the vertex or at the hair line (receding hair line). If this is the case you should visit out Male Hair Loss page for a series of articles and product suggestions. Please click here to do so.
