NAAF - The National Alopecia Areat Foundation - has just been awared a $200,000 grant to help set up clinical trials to determine whether the Amevivie affects alopecia areata. The grant has been issed by Biogen and will be handled by the NAAF research programme. Biogen will supply the required drugs for the trial directly to the NAAF investigators and, would you believe it, the cost of the drugs for this trial alone are worth over 1 million US dollars!
The clinical trial is really a "proof of concept" study to help NAAF understand and determine how alopecia areat is mediated by T-Cells.
