Nanogen Hair Loss

The Nanogen range of hair loss products can be split into 2 different types; hair loss treatments that actually help stop hair loss and aid re-growth, and cosmetic products to help thicken the hair and conceal thinning hair.

Nanogaine and Nanoguard will help combat the negative effects of DHT and using SOD's (explanations later!) are clinically proven to regrow your hair.

Nanothik and Nanofibres are excellent hair thickener/thinning hair concealers.

Finally we have the OneScalp shampoo and the new Titanium Scalp Roller - sounds nasty but it's great!

Nanothik's unique coating action locks the water into the core of the hair shaft, preventing the hair from becoming dry and brittle. This action also stops the hair from losing the thickness introduced in the swell phase.

Amino acids are the building blocks of all proteins, including the hair protein, keratin.

The amino acids that make up keratin are distributed in such a way that hair always carries a negative charge when in contact with water (or any non-acidic solution).

Almost all hair products are negatively charged and therefore their actives and the hair repel each other.

Nanothik utilises the hair's negative charge to its advantage by encapsulating the thickening active in a positively charged delivery system.

Once inside the core of the hair shaft, the delivery vehicle bursts, releasing maximum amouts of thickening active and water right where it is most effective.

As you probably know by now it is universally accepted that men and women with male/female pattern baldness have increased levels of DHT (Dihydrotestosterone) in the scalp. DHT contributes to a shortening of the growth phase and thinning of the hair.

Nanoguard Root Defence works locally by lowering the levels of DHT in the scalp tissues by partially blocking 5-alpha reductase (5-AR), which is an important enzyme involved in regulating the hair follicle.

Modern anti-hair loss drugs work in the same way, that is blocking the conversion of Testosterone to Dihydrotestosterone by means of the converting enzyme, 5-alpha reductase - BUT - oral medicines like 'finasteride' or Propecia (brand name) that work systemically (ie. throughout the body) have been critisised heavily by many users because of the high incidence of side-effects reports such as problems with libido, maintenance of erections, acne, weight-gain, increased hairiness on the rest of the body and others.

There is such a severe risk to the foetus of a pregnant women that adult females should not even handle the finasteride-containing tablet, which has meant that women cannot benefit from anti-DHT technology until now.

Please note that Nanoguard is suitable for both men and women.

Nanoguard comes in Shampoo (A) and Serum (B) format. The shampoo is for 3 times a week use and can replace your normal shampoo. The Serum also comes with a topical growth activator and should be applied every night.

They really work well together and we recommend purchasing them together in this way.

The primary active ingredient in Nanogaine is a SOD (superoxide dismutase). How this works is quite a complicated one to explain so here goes!

SOD's - Also known as Super Oxide Dismutase:
it works by handling the immune response which occurs as a result of excessive DHT in the follicle. When cells sense a foreign body, they release Super Oxide, which typically help defend the body against invading viruses, cells, and foreign tissues. SOD's reduce the presence of this Super Oxide, thus reducing the body's desire to reject the follicle. To quote HairLossTalk, "It's yet another angle proven to work in fighting hair loss. SOD's are kind of a hybrid treatment because they also have growth stimulation properties, as well as anti-inflammatory properties"

So, in a nutshell Nanogaine helps stop your immune system from attacking the hair follicle. Your body's immune system is attacking the hair follicle due to an over-abundance of DHT which it considers a foreign body.

Nanogaine also contains Capilecti which has been shown to expand the Anagen phase (growth phase) of the hair follicle along with Lo-Seb. Lo-Seb reduces sebum output by 16% and is effective in normalising Seborrhea often implicated in alopecia. Lo-Seb has also been shown to increase the percentage of hair in the Anagen (growth) phase by 15% too.

So, in summary, Nanogaine contains:

1. SOD's to help stop your own immune system from attacking your hair follicles due to too much DHT being present
   
   
2. Capilecti which helps extend the growth phase of the hair follicle and it also shortens the resting phase (Telogen) by 17%
   
   
3. Lo-Seb to reduce sebum output by 16% and increase the Anagen (growth) phase by 15%.

Combined, these 3 active ingredients really can stop hair loss and help with hair re-growth.
