Thinning Hair

Current ImageThinning hair is experienced by men and women though primarily it seems to affect women, with men tending to suffer from male pattern baldness instead. It is often called "diffuse thinning" and it's where the hair line remains the same but the actual quantity of hair thins out.

One of the main reasons women suffer from thinning hair is aging and/or a combination of factors including heredity and hormones. Thinning hair can be caused by hypothyroidism, anaemia, poor diet, certain medications, stress, childbirth and perimenopause (the time leading up to the menopause).

For most men, thinning hair is normally male pattern baldness (androgenetic alopecia) and starts at the vertex or at the hair line (receding hair line). If this is the case you should visit our Male Hair Loss page for a series of articles and product suggestions. Please click here to do so.

Here Are Our Recommendations for Female Thinning Hair

HairMax LaserComb

hairmax lasercomb for thinning hairThe HairMax LaserComb has continuously shown us that, in most people, it:

- Stimulates re-growth of scalp hair
- Strengthens, improves and thickens existing hair
- Improves the condition, quality and overall cosmetic appearance of hair

It works by stimulating the natural hair growing cycle. Whilst the initial outlay seems costly it actually only works out at around £35.00 per year which in our opinion is absolutely worth the cost!

Thymuskin Hair Loss Range

thymuskin rangeThymuskin is our most expensive range but it has the most clinical data backing it up. It has been clinically proven to be up to 97% successful in fighting hair loss in females so you can obviously appreciate how popular this range is with women.

It is both a great DHT inhibitor, growth stimulator and scalp conditioner. The results people achieve with these products are amazing, we have to say. In regards to thinning hair we only recommend the shampoo on its own.

There is no need for the Hair Treatment product unless your hair loss is moderate to severe. If you are suffering from thinning hair then we feel that the Thymuskin shampoo will help you .

Tricomin Hair Loss Range

tricomin for women thinning hairTricomin made it into our list of clinically efficacious products because it is one of the few products to have actually stimulated growth in intensive partial FDA trials. In Phase II clinical studies, it had very positive results on some of the 36 people who applied the treatment topically twice a day for 24 weeks. It uses a technology known as the "Copper Peptide Technology" to do this.

In our opinion Tricomin is ideal for women for 2 main reasons:

It uses copper peptides to extend the growth phase of the hair follicle and does not therefore rely on using DHT inhibiting properties that are normally less effective in women.

Its regrowth properties seem ideal for women suffering from thinning hair rather than patchy hair loss, for example. As many of our female customers are sufferers of thinning hair we feel that the Therapy spray is one of the best proven products for this problem.
